hell week & flapper style

If you've ever been involved in theatre, you know what I mean by hell week. Otherwise known as tech week. The week where you give all of your time to the theatre in hopes that the joy of opening night will pay you back. Well the show I am in right now requires a tech week that is much more demanding than usual. It's not your usual show. It's a compilation of about 12 one-act plays written by local teens. So I'm not only acting in one of the shows, but also acting as a stage manager for the show that I wrote.

The show I wrote, titled "Got no Wiggle," is set in the 1920s. It is about a flapper named Bunny who is stuck between loyalties to her old- fashioned mother who wants her to settle down and get married, and her flapper friend Cherry.

With the 1920s on my mind I spotted some flapper inspired styles while scoping through past Spring and Summer 2008 collections.

Well, expect an even longer slow down in posts for the rest of the week.. By the way, my birthday is on Thursday!

By the way, I apologize for the lack of posting.. I've been really busy acting and stage managing lately. Plus tennis is starting up. Hopefully I can get back on track soon.

1. A trip to New York City, which is actually right around the corner! My whole chorus, band and theatre group will be going on a trip there in about a month. It will be quite amazing. All of my theatre geeks, band kids, and chorus junkies all in one place. The best part is there are no chaperones in the hotel rooms. I cannot wait :)

2. A Pinkberry, preferably topped with mango, pineapple, and coconut. I think I need to join Pinkberry Anonymous. Anyone else addicted? Oh, and has anyone tried the new pomegranate flavor? I am dying to try it my dears.

3. A shopping spree, if only I had the time. Well, I am going to make time. I am in desperate need of some new spring shoes, jackets, shorts, jumpsuits, skirts, and well, everything.

4. My photoshop to cooperate. I'm not sure if that really counts as a craving, but all the same, it must be fixed! Oh how it pains me to use paint.. This is also the reason for no beauty post.

5. A new bag for spring. Any suggestions?

6. GOSSIP GIRL. TONIGHT! Yes, my thirst for Gossip Girl will be quenched tonight, March 16th. On gossipgirlinder.com, I was told that if I read their extended synopsis of tonight's episode I had to promise to make someone else tune in. So, you have to watch it! I guarantee you will love it. If you're a gossip girl virgin you may be a little confused, but entertained nonetheless. So get to it! Turn on your televisions tonight at 8 PM, and find your way to the CW.

7. Some Ben & Jerry's mint chocolate cookie ice cream, to go with tonight's episode of Gossip Girl.

8. Summer! After yet another harsh New England winter, I think we can all agree a little sun is well deserved. Smoothies, beach days, road trips, lemonade, bathing suits, smoldering country days, warm city nights, catching fire flies, hating my job but loving the benefits, going to the drive-in, all-nighters, spending rainy days at the mall, the ocean, walking around, going on hikes, swimming in rivers, and no school. Ahhhhh, oh summertime =)

9. A new beret to add to my collection would be very nice.

10. My birthday, which is less than a month away now. I guess I should start making plans & wish lists. I get very into all holidays, including my birthday =)

I suppose I am also craving these Golden Goose boots. They would fit right in with the other items on my current wish list.

Balmain & Beauty

Balmain Fall 2009 RTW. I adore this collection. My favorite collection of the season, besides Nina Ricci. Ahhh, it is just stunning. Balmain truly blew me away. "Decarnin deserves acknowledgement for keeping the wheels of fast fashion turning." (Sarah Mower, style.com) Yes, yes indeed.

Besides this lovely Balmain collection, there are some other things that I must talk about, such as this amazing lip gloss.

After seeing this lip gloss on La Couturier, I was reminded that I absolutely needed to mention this on my blog. The Chanel Aqualumiere Gloss in Party Red. This is the most fabulous lip gloss that I have ever owned. Some of you may disagree, but for me, this lip gloss is perfection. Being a young student I don't usually want to wear bright red lipstick to school (I prefer a more natural look), yet some days when I am feeling especially glamorous, I would appreciate a hint of red on my lips. This lip gloss does just that. Just the right amount of color to make you feel fabulous, yet not to flashy. So, if you're looking for a new lip gloss, try this one out. Definitely worth your money.

a fresh perspective

Spring! I can just feel it. The fact that the outside air feels crisper, and the fact that rain is falling from the sky rather than snow serves as a constant reminder. So, in celebration of the coming season, I made a strange little collage! I would love to wear everything pictured here this Spring and Summer. Ahhhhh. Oh, and those heavenly shoes floating above the gorgeous Miami skyline. Don't even get me started on those. The lovely array of delicious boots, yummy gladiator sandals, mouth-watering heels, and tasty wedges make me want to jump for joy. But the icing on the cake is the Chanel nail lacquer! In Django, and Vendetta. I recently purchased Vendetta. I'm excited to try it out, yet I just got a manicure, so I think it would be best to wait until my current polish begins to chip.

Anyways, what's your spring fetish? The item(s) you are dying to get your hands on.

P.S. Obviously there are many other items I would love for Spring... A more detailed post in the future? I think so.

Yes, Starbucks at Dsquared² Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear. I wonder, did Starbucks have to pay for the models to strut down the runway, with fabulous coffees in hand? I'm not completely crazy for this collection, in fact I've never really swooned over Dsquared². However, I wouldn't mind being one of the models. (Images: style.com)
